Tamás Náray’s exhibition in the OFF Culture Exhibition Hall in Újpest

Náray Tamás, the versatile artist known to the public from the world of fashion, has been gaining increasing recognition as a painter in recent years. His works have been exhibited in numerous galleries both in Hungary and internationally, and most recently, the Újpest OFF Kultur Exhibition Space hosted his unique exhibition. The title of the exhibition, “The Second Golden Age”, refers not only to the theme of the paintings but also to a new phase in Náray Tamás’s artistic journey.
The exhibition commemorates the 5th anniversary of the TamIstArte Art Gallery in Spain by showcasing 50 fresh and new-retrospective works by the artist. It pays tribute to the thematic exhibitions of past years, such as Old Testament (2019), Mesopotamia – Legend of the Ancient World (2020), Lost Gods – Wandering in Greek Mythology (2021), The Age of the Roman Empire – In the Footsteps of Secrets and Myths (2022), Byzantium – The Cradle of Immortality (2023), Hispania – The Centuries of the Crown (2024).
The curator of the exhibition is Professor Valeriano Venneri, art historian (Italy).
The exhibition features the artist’s latest abstract paintings, which display a vibrant array of colors and shapes. Náray Tamás’s bold brushwork and unusual color combinations provide a unique visual experience for visitors. The paintings speak not only to the eye but also to the soul, reflecting the artist’s emotions, thoughts, and his perception of the world.
A special feature of “The Second Golden Age” exhibition is that it showcases the artist’s creations from his time in Spain. Náray Tamás, known from the world of fashion, previously mainly created figurative paintings depicting female figures, portraits, and scenes from life.
The exhibition showcases Náray Tamás’s abstract paintings. While elements of reality are still recognizable in his early works, the shapes and colors gradually break away from concrete representation and increasingly express the artist’s inner world. Abstract painting becomes a realm of freedom, experimentation, and self-expression for Náray Tamás.
One of the most interesting aspects of the exhibition is the artist’s technical diversity. Náray Tamás experiments not only with oil paint but also with acrylic, pastel, and mixed media. The use of various materials and techniques results in diverse textures and surfaces, making the paintings even more exciting.
The “Second Golden Age” exhibition can be an interesting program not only for art lovers but also for a wider audience. Náray Tamás’s paintings are easily accessible, yet they also conceal deeper layers. The interplay of colors and shapes, the artist’s expressive style, and the thoughts behind the paintings will touch everyone who is open to new experiences.
The Újpest OFF Kultur Exhibition Space is an ideal venue for Náray Tamás’s exhibition. The modern, spacious area allows the paintings to be displayed effectively, and visitors can comfortably stroll among the artworks. A number of programs are also offered in connection with the exhibition, including guided tours, art talks, and workshops.
